Brachetto Spumante

Quite the latest fashion today in sweets wines, Brachetto has always been part of Piedmontese tradition and has been appreciated at the end of a meal since the end of last century. For its floral bouquet, its soft and delicate taste, its ruby red almost violet colour, this wine is a great favourite with the general public. The attractive mousse and sparkle makes it a festive wine that goes well with fresh or dried fruit, and with the most elaborate puddings too. Giulio Cocchi produced this wine in the 1940s and has started again with grapes from the Basso Monferrato. It’s a young wine, to be drunk chilled. In bars it has a natural place served in a glass goblet with a garnish of berry fruits.
