RUCHE' DI CASTAGNOLE MONFERRATO DOC

Casa Brina

it is obtained from Ruché grapes in a limited area in the province of Asti. The wine is fairly ruby red in colour with faint purplish reflections, intense, persistent, slightly aromatic and fruity with a dry flavour. Consume with most foods.
Production zone:  Castagnole Monferrato and Portacomaro. A rare wine; the entire DOC comprises no more than 50,000 bottles in any one vintage. Casa Brina makes about 6000 bottles each year.
Grapes: Ruché 100%.
Winery ageing: on sale only after at least one year's ageing.
Alcohol content: 12,5 %.
Vinification:  temperature-controlled on-skin fermentation.
Characteristics:

Ruby red colour with violet reflections, often with orange tinges. Powerful bouquet. Fruity, dry, well-balanced, moderately tannic, medium-weight, soft and well-balanced. The intense aromatic qualities of the grape are instantly recognisable.

Serving:

recommended temperature of 16-18°C, according to vintage.

Food pairings: the soft balance and spicy bouquet of this delicate wine mean it goes well with authentic international cuisine, including vegetarian dishes an some meats, such as duck, or goats cheese and oriental food.
