BARBERA D'ASTI D.O.C

This elegant, characteristic, and richly flavoured wine comes from well sited vineyards in Nizza and Agliano D'Asti. It is the most classic of all the Bava family wines, produced now for three generations. Only released on the market after at least one year's ageing in the winery it is well suited to further ageing with its excellent structure and good level of acidity.

Winery ageing: on the sale after one year in the cellar.
   
Ageing potential: more than five years if kept in good conditions.
   
Degree of alcohol: 12,5 % vol.
   
Vinification process: slow on-skin maceration with subsequent controlled-temperature fermentation.
   
Characteristics: deep ruby red, fine and long-lasting aroma of bitter cherries, flowers and berry fruit. Dry and elegant.
   
Serving temperature:  best at between 16/18° C, depending on age.
   
Recommened with: a wine to be drunk throughout the meal; good with red meats and mature cheeses if older.
