Arbest, the new face of Barbera
Right on the steepest slopes,
arbést in local Monferrato dialect,
where viticulture and the harvest are
strictly manual and laborious affairs, we
are creating a new wine from Piedmont's
favourite grape. Following the
international success of Stradivario, one
of the first Super Barbera in eighties,
Arbest is a new contribution to this
quality revolution. It is the
introduction of the use of barriques, as
well as severe selection in the
vineyards, that gives Barbera its fine
wine status with a world class
reputation. Arbest explores the
possibilities of mixing traditional and
modern techniques of production. The
strength of the new Barbera is that it
has an international taste without
compromising its intrinsic character, its
obvious ageing potential, its precise
geographic origins and above all,
attractive character.
