MALVAXIA

The name derives from the ancient name for the Malvasia grape, first referred to in this area in the Statutes of Mondonio (a district of Castelnuovo Don Bosco) in 1468, as "Uve Marvaxie". This is the first and, so far, the only passito wine made from the Malvasia di Schierano. Late picked grapes are left to dry on cane racks and vinified as a monovarietal. The bouquet of thisaromatic wine with its strong scent of dog-roses makes this wine immediately attractive and follows through to an elegant palate.
