Wine cocktail: Bava wines are up for a new challenge, on a market – that of bars and contemporary mixology – in continuous growth and evolution.
An interesting chapter that of Summer 2017, lead by Moscato d’Asti Bass Tuba and Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco Rosetta, the family autochthonous aromatic wines, proposed nature in goblet, in the sherbet version or in alternative as cocktails with seasonal or exotic fruits.
In occasion of the trade event Extravaganza organized in October on the East Coast by the importer Grapes&Greens, Moscato d’Asti Bava has been the protagonist of the Spritz Piemonte mixed with the aromatized wine Americano Cocchi, lemon juice and rosewater.
There is a historic reminiscence of futurist derivation when mixing Bava wines in the “polibibite” (cocktails) of the Thirties. The Alcohol Carousel recipe requires the use of Barbera d’Asti Docg Libera Bava combined to Campari and Cedrata Tassoni. Decisone includes Barolo Bava mixed with Barolo Chinato, Rhum and mandarin juice. Whereas with the Inventina again Moscato d’Asti is mixed with pineapple liqueur and frozen red orange juice.
One of the versions of a classical cocktail in Italy, the aperitif Bicycle, combines Gavi del Comune di Gavi to Cocchi Rosa with a twist of lemon and a splash of soda.
