Ten years ago, <strong>the world recognized the value of these lands<\/strong>, a landscape of rare beauty where nature has been masterfully shaped by man, characterized by green hills covered with centuries-old vineyards and dotted with ancient, charming villages, medieval castles, and Romanesque churches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8461 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco.jpg\" alt=\"uva dei vigneti del Monferrato unesco\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/langhe-monferrato-unesco-1140x760.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The viticultural landscapes of Langhe Monferrato and Roero<\/h2>\n<p>The UNESCO site <strong>extends on the southern Piedmont<\/strong> along a territory of rolling hills covered with vineyards that extend within the boundaries of three provinces: Alexandria, Asti and Cuneo, which includes twenty-nine municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>It is a single site <strong>composed of six different components<\/strong>, each with its own distinct identity but all united by the significant role they have played &#8211; and continue to &#8211; in Piedmontese viticulture. These components are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Langhe of Barolo<\/li>\n<li>The Castle of Grinzane Cavour<\/li>\n<li>The hills of Barbaresco<\/li>\n<li>Nizza Monferrato and Barbera<\/li>\n<li>Canelli and Asti Sparkling wine<\/li>\n<li>The Monferrato of the Infernot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These six components are equally distributed <strong>between Monferrato and Langhe<\/strong>, forming a rich system of farms, wineries and vineyards that have proven to be a fundamental part of the history and development of an internationally recognized wine excellence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our presence in two out of these six components<\/strong> is a source of great pride for us: Bava is located in the heart of the Langa del Barolo with the farm Scarrone in Castiglione Falletto and in the central area of Nizza Monferrato and Barbera with the farm Pianoalto in Agliano Terme.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8463 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe.jpg\" alt=\"anniversario paesaggi vitivinicoli del Monferrato unesco\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anni-paesaggi-vitivinicoli-piemonte-unesco-monferrato-langhe-1140x760.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The UNESCO Langa del Barolo<\/h2>\n<p>The UNESCO area of &#8220;Langa del Barolo&#8221; is characterized by a landscape dominated by vineyards that stretch uninterrupted across the hillsides, creating a fascinating, almost uniform green blanket, interrupted here and there by small villages and majestic castles.<\/p>\n<p>The component is circumscribed in the territory of seven of those eleven Municipalities of the Western Langhe where, from the cultivation of Nebbiolo grapes, Barolo wine can be obtained: Barolo (from which the wine is named), Diano d&#8217;Alba, La Morra, Monforte d&#8217;Alba, Novello, Serralunga d&#8217;Alba and <strong>Castiglione Falletto, where our Cascina Scarrone stands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The farmhouse&#8217;s winery hosts the oak barrels we use for the fermentation and ageing of the Nebbiolo grapes, which we cultivate and harvest exclusively from the five hectares of land surrounding it, producing <strong>our Barolo DOCG Scarrone Bava\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Langhe DOC Nebbiolo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8457 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero.jpg\" alt=\"vigneto in collina nelle langhe unesco\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bava.com\/media\/10-anniversario-unesco-monferrato-langhe-roero-1140x760.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Barolo DOCG Scarrone Bava da Castiglione Falletto<\/h2>\n<p>Our Barolo DOCG Scarrone is a wine of remarkable complexity and elegance, with an intense garnet color and notes of tobacco, rose and violet that are further refined over time.
