A prestigious award for the Bava Cocconato wines, from the Monferrato near Asti: the 2022 Serre di San Pietro Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo Superiore has been rated Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso’s 2026 Guide to Italian Wines, the highest ranking, by one of Italy’s most respected enological publications.
An important honor, for one of the winery’s signature labels: in fact, Serre di San Pietro, the Nebbiolo from the heart of Piedmont, comes from the Bava family’s original vineyard, on the Cadodo hillside, where the family has lived and tended the land for 13 generations. The Cocconato area and the scenic Serre hills have long been associated with the production of Nebbiolo: that is why, in the late nineties, the vineyards were replanted, a decision later rewarded by the granting of the Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo designation in 2018.
This wine expresses the character and fragrance of the area’s great reds: brilliant ruby red in color, its floral aromas of violets and wild roses blend with fruit notes and subtle wooded hints. To the palate, its elegance and structure are balanced by freshness and persistence, culminating in a Nebbiolo of memorable refinement.
