Summer is drawing to a close, and in our winery, that can only mean one thing: it’s harvest time.

Every year, the harvest is a magical moment for us.

After months of care and attention, our grapes are finally ready to be harvested.

This year, we’re halfway there: we’ve finished harvesting the white grapes from our Cocconato vineyards and we have begun to harvest our first Barbera bunches.

This marks the 113th harvest for Bava family, over a century during which six generations have taken turns in the vineyards and the cellar.

Piero Bava, part of the fourth generation, still recalls what this time of year was like when he was a child… “The beauty of the harvest lies in its romance,” he says.

A lot of time has passed since that first Bava harvest, but the atmosphere in the winery and our passion remain unchanged.
